Yesterday my Mom and I were having a conversation about how I need to relax. I let a lot of stress affect me and then I can't sleep...plus endometriosis pains are triggered by stress. Even though I think it's important to mention that I'm still PAIN FREE!
I have another appointment after school tomorrow to make sure the pain holds off for a few months so I'm warning you now that I will not be blogging about it until Tuesday. The first time it gave me such a peaceful and mellow feeling afterwards. I'm sure I will not want to get on the computer and be writing about food and weight loss after that. My doctor says for some its euphoric and it brings up a lot of emotions. It definitely was for me and I can't describe it but I feel so thankful and happy. Strange, huh?
Back to my conversation with my Mom...we are both very close and talk almost everyday. Another bonus is that my Mom instilled a passion for reading in me. She was talking about this book club she's in with some neighborhood girls and how they always pick very simplistic writing. She was going on about how it would be rude of her at book club to say she didn't like the current book because it wasn't challenging writing and didn't hold her interest. I was telling her that the style of writing she is talking about is my favorite kind of book! But, she was saying how we all read for different purposes and mine is too escape. I realized that reading is my favorite outlet for relieving stress (mostly work related...hmmm some family! haha!). It's interesting how I mostly choose a mystery, friendship, familial relationships, or love. I ALMOST NEVER choose some kind of disturbed setting that deals with children. My life is filled with all the horrible environments kids live in on a daily basis. It's depressing to me and I am utterly shocked at the amount of children with absolutely awful home lives. But, anyway, the point of my blog today was to remind myself that as much as eating healthy and exercise are important; so is relaxing and making time for myself.
