Hangovers- part 1:
One issue that may be coming up for some people is a hangover. The bad physical effects of a hangover can be the result of over-use of alcohol, but you can have symptoms that feel similar to an alcohol hangover from over-excessive calories at a single meal or over a whole day (or week at this time of year). The symptoms feel similar, but the body’s reaction to over-eating may be acid-reflux, bloating and gas. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/heartburn.html . If this situation isn’t a chronic problem, there are good acid-relieving products available over-the-counter. For me, with a chronic issue with stomach acid, I can find relief with these products, but have some concerns about using them all the time. I eat raw ginger (a homeopathic cure), or a spoonful of yellow mustard (levels the acid levels in stomach), but when the symptoms can’t seem to be managed, I also use the over-the-counter remedies.
Tomorrow we will discuss remedies for the alcohol hangovers. Hope you don’t need the advice, but if you do, I’ll see you then.
