According to Fitness Magazine, "To tumble pounds, 43 percent of women have skipped dishes regularly; 39 percent have popped diet pills; 23 percent have vanished on collision diets; and 20 percent have exercised every day for two hours at a time." This makes me so sad to read statistics such as these. Even more disappointing is the fact that I can say I've been one of each of these percentages. If you're reading my blog it would be my guess that you're interested in losing weight or how to eat healthily...so maybe you're one or all of these statistics as well?. During college when my weight was sky rocketing and I felt out of control I went to see a doctor that specialized in weight problems. She gave me this little blue pill, I can't recall the name of it, and it was supposed to take all the fats in the foods I ate and cause me to immediately go to the restroom and poop them out (sorry, I know that's gross). I would be in the middle of student teaching and have to run to the restroom because my food literally ran right through me. I took it for at least six months without any significant weight loss. I really have to wonder how healthy it was to be taking this pill. If you're feeling out of control with your own weight I beg you to please see a nutritionist or if you have the money, Jenny Craig or a personal trainer. Don't resort to some crash diet or crazy pill that will never be a life long solution. Portion control and educating yourself on nutritional labels is the way to stick to a healthy life and leaner figure.
